About the owners…

Hello, and welcome to the Laker Life Cottage! We are Kurt and Susan Cleghorn, proud owners of the cottage since 2015. The cottage has hosted wonderful events full of great memories with family and friends over the years including graduation celebrations, birthdays, Christmas, bonfires, boating weekends, and family meals. We are excited to share it with you!

We moved to Michigan from Illinois in 1992, raised our family in Grand Haven Michigan, then moved to Pentwater in 2023 after we became “empty nesters.” Kurt is a General Manager and Engineer at a local factory and Susan is a Professor of Occupational Therapy at Grand Valley State University. We have two adult children, Madelaine and Noah. Maddie works as an Attorney in DC and Noah is an Environmental Scientist and Forest Firefighter with the DNR.
